Several U.S. companies are focusing on renewable jet fuel

U.S. airlines have started to use biofuel to power some flights, and several companies lead the way in biofuel development in aviation. LanzaTech, Virent and UOP are focusing on renewable jet fuel. The Federal Aviation Administration awarded $3 million to LanzaTech, $1.5 million to Virent and $1.1 million to UOP.
