Study: Shale-gas development will boost jobs, U.S. manufacturers

Industrial activity to harness U.S. shale natural gas reserves will allow manufacturers to save billions in energy costs and generate as many as 1 million jobs by 2025, according to a report released by PricewaterhouseCoopers. Shale-gas development means "opportunities and challenges for investment and job creation," said Bob McCutcheon, author of the report. "We do believe there is the possibility of a renaissance in U.S. manufacturing," McCutcheon added.
