FDA approves Medicis gel for filling wrinkles

The FDA has given its approval to Medicis Pharmaceutical's Restylane, already approved in more than 60 other countries, as an injectable gel for filling in facial wrinkles. It is made by Sweden's Q-Med AB. Hylaform, a similar cream made by Inamed and Genzyme, also is awaiting approval by the FDA.
