Closet played role in Foley scandal

A House subcommittee report on Mark Foley shows a Republican leadership reluctant to confront their closeted colleague, despite efforts by gay staffers to bring attention to Foley's alleged inappropriate behavior. The "uproar" over the Foley scandal is likely to have negative repercussions on the LGBT movement for some time, according to Matt Foreman, executive director of the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force.
