Army to expand use of UAVs

The Army plans new missions in 2009 for its fleet of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, including counterterrorism and counterinsurgency efforts in Africa and Latin America. "We will look at surveillance situations in a jungle," says a UAV deputy project manager, adding that more links will be added with both ground stations and nearby helicopters.
