Bernanke looks to Roosevelt as Fed looks to act

The Federal Reserve is expected to lower interest rates when it meets this week from the already low level of 1%. With little wiggle room, Chairman Ben Bernanke is looking for other options to help ease the recession. A Wall Street Journal analysis by Jon Hilsenrath suggests that Bernanke is using policies implemented by President Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Depression as a model.
