Higher materials costs spark homeowner disputes with insurers

The higher cost of roofing materials has led to more disputes between insurers and homeowners who need roof repairs. Roofing work now costs up to $300 per 100 square feet, up from between $180 to $240, experts say. Roofing contractors say they think initial offers from insurance companies are coming in too low and note that the companies may be using outdated pricing data.
