In strategy shift, Microsoft releases iPhone app

Needing to focus on its own Windows Mobile platform, Microsoft had held off on developing applications for the iPhone, but the company finally came to terms with the smartphone's market dominance and introduced its Seadragon Mobile image-browsing software for the Apple device. Microsoft, whose app is aimed at making it easier for the handset's users to scroll through large images or collections, is fighting a multifront war for market share in the wireless world.
