Carpetright capitalises on better housing-market conditions

Carpetright, the largest flooring retailer in the UK, reported strong half-yearly sales growth, helped by the demise of a competitor, the housing market's improving conditions and other factors. The sales growth bolsters the theory from company CEO and Chairman Lord Harris of Peckham that Carpetright is generally "first in, first out" of an economic downturn.
