Chemical sector leads manufacturing jobs in Louisiana

Although the chemicals industry in Louisiana has managed to stay afloat amid the global economic downturn, many chemical companies were forced to trim their workforce and shift some of their operations overseas. "It's extremely important that we, as a state, don't take the industry for granted," says Stephen Moret, secretary of Louisiana Economic Development.
