Encouraging workers to use employee-assistance programs

Some employers are promoting greater use of their employee-assistance programs as a cheaper alternative to seeking help through their medical plan. A new mental-health parity law, in effect for some employees by Jan. 1, states co-payments for behavioral-health services can't be more than those for other medical benefits.
