The HDTV-HD programming disconnect

DisplaySearch is reporting that the market penetration for HDTVs now is close to 50%, but a recent survey from Frank N. Magid Associates shows that only about 66% of those households also receive high-definition programming. "Only two-thirds of those who say they own an HDTV set subscribe to an HD service, which is about the same level that we found in last year's survey," lamented Magid's Maryann Baldwin.
