NYC public hospital system opens Web site for diabetic patients

The New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation yesterday unveiled its Diabetes Wellness Center, a Web site designed to help its more than 58,000 patients become more active in their diabetes care. "We know millions of people seek health information on the Web and we wanted to tap this resource as an additional tool to help patients do all they can to manage diabetes at home," said Alan D. Aviles, president of the 11 acute-care public hospital network.
