Report: Aviation injuries hospitalize about 1,000 a year

Aviation-related injuries result in the hospitalization of more than 1,000 people per year, according to a new report. According to the report, which analyzed data from 2000 to 2005, only about 10% of those injured were traveling in commercial aircraft, with more than 32% in private airplanes and nearly 11% in gliders or hang gliders, while 28.9% of those injured were parachutists.
