The differences between Eastern and Western flavors

Chefs in the U.S. and Europe have long used recipes that combine popular ingredients with shared flavor profiles such as tomatoes, parmesan cheese and white wine, while authentic Asian cuisine steers clear of combining many ingredients with common flavor compounds, according to a study of 56,498 recipes from three online sources.
