All-star principal quits job with Edison

Janice I. Solkov, hired by Edison Schools to manage Morton McMichael Elementary School in Philadelphia, last week told the company she planned to step down Dec. 31. Solkov said the system's bureaucracy, combined with Edison's inability to advance its own model, was too much for her to swallow.
