Bush administration doubles funds for New Orleans

The Bush administration has announced that the government would double the amount of money to be put toward shoring up New Orleans' levees to protect the city from the type of catastrophic flooding that occurred after Hurricane Katrina. While the government said it would add $1.5 billion to the $1.6 billion already promised for the levees, the funds fall short of the $30 billion Louisiana leaders say is necessary to protect the city from another Category 5 hurricane.
