Chicago schools chief is Obama's pick for Education Secretary

Veteran Chicago schools chief Arne Duncan, 44, is President-elect Barack Obama's choice for U.S. Secretary of Education. Duncan has pushed for major reforms in Chicago schools, but has done so without alienating teachers unions, educators say. "When it comes to school reform, Arne is the most hands-on of hands-on practitioners," Obama said in making the announcement.
