NIH awards $850,000 biodefense grant to Durham, N.C., company

The NIH has awarded an $850,000 grant to Parion Sciences to further its research on CF-552, a drug candidate for the prevention of radiation-induced lung injuries caused by adverse nuclear events. Previous studies have shown that the drug helps in clearing radioactive particles from the lungs.
