Charities go goodwill hunting online

This holiday season, charities such as the United Way, the Salvation Army and the American Red Cross are using Facebook and Twitter to reach out to young people, hoping to recruit volunteers and donors. "Our donor base is starting to get it," says American Red Cross spokesman Douglas Lent. "Every day somebody new is following you on Twitter. I have to believe they care."
