Deal close on forest, natural assets protection plan

Negotiators at climate talks in Copenhagen are close to agreeing on a wide-ranging deal to protect the world's natural landscapes through a system that will pay countries to conserve natural assets based on their ability to curb greenhouse-gas emissions. Forests, peat land, swamps and fields are among the landscape that will qualify under the program.
