FuturaGene secures Chinese patent for drought-resistant gene

Chinese regulators issued a patent to FuturaGene for its gene that could help food and nonfood crops tolerate drought. The patent comes after the agricultural biotech company and Bayer CropScience signed a licensing agreement over the use of drought-resistant technology in cotton.
