November construction starts rise 7% from last month's levels

November construction starts rose 7% from October's levels -- which, after seasonal adjustments, means a 20% increase, according to Reed Construction Data. Meanwhile, the year-to-date value of construction starts through November is down 6.1% from the same period in 2008. In November 2009, non-residential starts climbed 16%, while heavy construction starts declined 6%.
