Push for MVPD device finds receptive ear at FCC

FCC Media Bureau Chief William Lake appears to be offering some support for an idea to develop a set-top box that could distribute content from cable, satellite and telecom providers. Of the so-called "multichannel video programming distributor" device, Lake said that "it would take commission action to drive the effort, but [the] industry has many pieces in place to implement this proposal."
