Sahara closes 2 towers amid low demand

The Sahara casino-resort in Las Vegas says it has closed two of its three hotel towers for the winter season because of declining demand. Resort officials could not disclose the number of rooms that were closed or the number of workers laid off as a result of the closures. The resort's Tangiers tower, with 1,720 rooms, will remain open, as will the casino.
