San Francisco hotel sector sees signs of improvement

With average rooms rates jumping to $198 a night in October, a 14% increase over September, San Francisco's hotel industry represents a positive sign for the city's economy. Occupancy was meanwhile up to 87.5%, 5.1% higher than the same month a year ago, and revenue per available room was just 0.4% lower than October 2008.
