Six-month wait between pregnancies is needed, study says

Researchers said women should wait at least six months after having a baby, with 11 months or more being even better, before getting pregnant again. They found the risks of infant death, preterm birth, birth defects and low-birth weight were higher for women who became pregnant less than six months postpartum.
