To make sure your lawn mower will function well in the spring, clean and inspect the equipment before storing it for winter. Horticulturist Ward Upham recommends the removal of any leftover gasoline as well as cleaning the mower's deck and examining the nuts, bolts and filters to see if they need replacement or cleaning.
