Foreclosures declined 21% in November, largest drop in 5 years

Foreclosure filings in the U.S. fell 21% in November compared with October, the biggest drop in at least five years, according to research firm RealtyTrac. The decline was caused by a combination of the traditional slowdown of foreclosure activity around Thanksgiving and delays imposed by lenders after revelations of widespread misconduct in the preparation of foreclosure documents, experts said.
