Wigand is named to lead FDIC's Office of Complex Financial Institutions

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., led by Sheila Bair, appointed Jim Wigand as director of the agency's newly established Office of Complex Financial Institutions. Wigand will play a key role in resolving the "too big to fail" issue. Wigand's "experience in resolutions, asset sales, structured finance and financial institution regulation uniquely position him to lead the CFI at a critically important time," Bair said.
