Efforts are under way to recruit Hispanic teachers in Md. district

Officials in Prince George's County, Md., are seeking to recruit more Hispanic teachers as the district's population of Hispanic students grows. To do that, officials are reaching out to universities in New York, Texas, Florida and other states, and advertising on websites and in media outlets that target Hispanics. The recruitment effort follows a study that said minority students perform better when taught by minority teachers.
