Report: Health IT can help bridge care gaps in Canada

A report based on a Commonwealth Fund survey of 3,958 Canadians revealed that compared with the general public, sicker patients in the country find it more difficult to receive care and that they are more likely to skip medications or forgo recommended follow-up tests and therapies due to cost concerns. The report suggested using EHRs, telemedicine and related tools to improve care access among chronically ill patients in the country.
