Next-gen insulin pump from Insulet receives 510(k) clearance

The FDA has cleared Insulet to market a next-generation version of its OmniPod system, which is used to deliver insulin in diabetes patients. The company said the newly cleared device, which is one-quarter lighter and one-third smaller than the original version launched in 2005, is expected to arrive in the U.S. in March.
