Study links chronic constipation to higher colon cancer risk

Researchers examined data from a U.S. claims database and found that patients with chronic constipation had a 1.78 times greater risk of colorectal cancer and 2.7 times increased risk of benign neoplasms. The study was presented at the annual meeting of the American College of Gastroenterology.
