Ariz. middle-schoolers visit courthouse to prep for mock trial

A group of eighth-graders from Mile High Middle School in Prescott, Ariz., took a closer look at the U.S. legal system during a recent visit to the Yavapai County Courthouse. The 220 students observed a case and learned about the legal system from Superior Court Administrator Rolf Eckel and Superior Court Judge Pro-Tempore Patricia Trebesch. Teacher Robin Andre said the visit will help students when they conclude their unit on the judicial branch with a "more realistic" mock trial.
