Can programming skills help boost math scores?

Students' math skills may improve when they learn programming skills, according to a study from Brigham Young University researchers. In the study, middle-school students learned programming skills twice a week after school, and researchers found improved skills among the student groups. "We saw growth in certain math skills like functions and variables used in algebra," said Geoff Wright, an associate professor who conducted the research.
