Consumers view annuities more positively than industry suspects, survey finds

Many financial professionals avoid talking about annuities, thinking they have a bad reputation with consumers, but a survey suggests they are making a big mistake. Sixty-eight percent of people who don't own annuities have a positive or neutral view of them, according to a survey by Genworth Financial. Among non-owners of annuities, 40% said they would consider buying an annuity.
