Few patients treated for Clostridium difficile test positive for infection

In a single-center study involving 1,971 patients who were treated with either vancomycin or metronidazole for Clostridium difficile infections, just 292 tested positive for the infection, an analysis found. The findings were reported at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists meeting.
