Japan urges pharma industry to adopt rules for sponsored content

Articles that ran in a Japanese magazine for cancer patients and for which the publisher was paid by drugmakers may have violated the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law, which forbids advertising of oncology drugs. Ministry officials asked the five drugmakers, which were not named, to conduct internal investigations, and pharmaceutical companies will be urged to adopt a voluntary code of practice for sponsored content.
