Microsoft: A unified cybersecurity strategy is needed

The top cybersecurity threats in 2014 will be tied to governments' actions and global events, according to security experts at Microsoft. Paul Nicholas of Microsoft's Trustworthy Computing division says the biggest issue will be a lack of a unified global strategy and vision. "The U.S. and EU efforts will not happen in isolation. It will be important to ensure that we do not end up with hundreds of different approaches to cybersecurity," Nicholas wrote in a blog post. Others predict that hacking issues tied to the World Cup and cloud services will take a toll in 2014.
