Pediatricians: Pregnant women, children should avoid raw milk

Pregnant women, infants and children should consume only pasteurized milk and related products because raw dairy products continue to carry a risk of bacterial infection, the American Academy of Pediatrics said in a policy statement published in the journal Pediatrics. "All milk intended for direct consumption should be pasteurized -- it's a matter of food safety," the International Dairy Foods Association said on its website.
