Aussie panel rejects Singapore-led broadband bid

Australian regulators have readied a draft ruling turning down a bid from a Singapore Telecommunications-led consortium to build a fiber-optic broadband network in the country. The application from the group, known as G9, gave the developer too much "discretion" in building the network and lacked effective independent-auditing reviews, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said today.
