Report: Social-network ads to hit $2.2B in 2008

Social networks' global ad spending is projected to nearly double, from $1.2 billion in 2007 to $2.2 billion in 2008, according to a report from eMarketer. The U.S., where MySpace and Facebook dominate the segment, is estimated to rake in the largest ad share, with $1.6 billion in 2008, up from $920 million this year, per eMarketer.
