Industry insiders say 2009 could be "year of travel deals"

The price of gas is at its lowest level in years, hotel rates are easing and the value of the greenback is up. Genevieve Shaw Brown of Travelocity says that for those who can afford a vacation, next year will be "the year of travel deals." "As long as the economic slowdown continues, deals will abound for people who do have discretionary income to travel." Guidebook writer Pauline Frommer and other industry insiders agree.
