Study: Low-glycemic foods best for lowering blood sugar

A diet of low-glycemic foods such as beans and pasta is better than a high-cereal-fiber diet for lowering blood sugar in people with Type 2 diabetes. "This [re-emphasizes] what we know -- at the end of the day, the best diet is the Mediterranean-type diet: nuts, beans, lentils, fruits, vegetables," said an American Heart Association spokeswoman.
