Carriers see clouds as rainmakers in 2010

Cloud-computing services will present an increasing opportunity for wireless operators next year, according to executives who also predict the rise of nontraditional offerings, such as machine-to-machine communications. Offering cloud services to small businesses will free them to "instead focus on the innovation and applications," said Steve Elfman, the head of Sprint Nextel's Network Operations and Wholesale unit.
