Multichannel retailers close performance gap with pure-play rivals

While Web-only retailers traditionally have outperformed multichannel retailers in regard to site performance during peak shopping periods, the gap is narrowing. Wal-Mart Stores, Sears Holdings, Best Buy and other major retailers are catching up with Amazon.com, Zappos.com and other online-only leaders.
