Pepsi won't field drink ads for Super Bowl

PepsiCo officials announced that its beverages will sit out Super Bowl XLIV, ending a 23-year streak of running pricey, buzzworthy ads. "In 2010, each of our beverage brands has a strategy and marketing platform that will be less about a singular event," said Frank Cooper, senior vice president of PepsiCo Americas Beverages.
