Small Oregon provider readies HSPA+ service

A small central Oregon cable company will deploy HSPA+ wireless technology, with plans to introduce residential voice and Internet service early next year. BendBroadband said it expected to offer download speeds between 6 and 8 megabits per second on average, adding that it will be able to serve homes that were too costly to reach using its fiber-coax cable technology.
