U.S. life expectancy hits record at 77.9 years, CDC says

A person born in the U.S. in 2007 has an average life expectancy of 77.9 years, a record high but still lower than in Canada, Japan and some other industrialized countries, the CDC said. Life expectancy for women is 80.4 years on average and 75.3 years for men, data showed.
